Union of Two
Male and female are not equal... they are yoni and lingam, complimentary opposites joined in purpose. Their mystic union is dynamic and thus life producing. It is a movement between one pole and the other which creates experience. This is why the literal reproduction of offspring results from their union. A pairing of same + same is a pairing where one is equal to the other and thus no movement, no life is produced. It yields stagnation and would not naturally bear fruit. Union presupposes difference - otherwise it wouldn't be a coming together. It is not only a "difference" in terms of "separateness"... in terms of one entity being located here and the other being located there in a separate body. This is a superficial and elementary supposition. Just to be sure we didn't get confused by such a quandary, nature has built in its own signpost - male + female = life. Union of opposites = life. Here, the greatest dispensation of mathematical, poetic, scientific and artistic beauty is latently promised. Divine order possesses the truest and thus most beautifully fruitful meaning: all apparent dualities resolve and peace can be attained. Nothing is carried over or left out of the equation. Each point of the polarity is accounted for. Sameness is an opportunity to affirm the individuated self. It becomes a clique or tribal mentality when the numbers are large enough. And in the body such an isolation of self-identified cells is called cancer. Yet, does God not have a plan for all in creation? Isolation from the interests of the entire being yields death. Union yields life. Truth yields life. Lust is beguiling regardless of orientation. It is not a thing of hatred or emotionality... each according to his or her calling. Love, leaving the rest to God.
